Detox the natural way with our Blood Cleansing Tea

The idea that certain herbs can clean the blood has been around for centuries, although in the modern age this may be dismissed as unscientific folklore. But we are now starting to realise that ancient people knew what they were talking about when it comes to healing. For example, modern science has confirmed that many of the so-called “blood cleaning” herbs improve the function of the liver and kidneys (two organs that filter toxins from the blood). How did they know? Well, one reason is that while modern science is concerned with understanding the external world, many ancient traditions looked inward: tapping into a kind of intuitive knowledge that today we are very much lacking in.  This type of knowledge generally leads to a more harmonious relationship with nature, rather than the separation that is causing so many problems today.

In the same way that it is preferable to work with nature, real healing can only occur when we work with the body’s natural defence systems. Detoxing is not something you do through taking up a healthy diet or fasting, it is happening in your body right now! Your circulatory system is working non-stop to detox your body, and also to transport the necessary hormones, nutrients, and fats to keep your body healthy. What is in your blood depends on what you put into your body. So, this filtration and transport system will be very effective if you eat the right things, but will struggle if it is having to work overtime to remove any toxins you are putting into your body. For example, consuming too many fatty foods will increase your cholesterol which in turn lowers your blood pressure. Eating a sugar-heavy diet will increase blood sugar and therefore increase your blood flow. Alcohol and other drugs will put a strain on your liver and kidneys. It is vital to maintain a healthy balance to keep your body in check.

We tend to regard our ancestors as primitive. But really it seems like we are the primitive ones; they had an intuitive knowledge of which plants can heal, whereas we are creating new ways to poison ourselves every day! Perhaps we should look back on the knowledge of our ancestors in a new light and not be afraid to learn something from them. Every day we encounter dangerous toxins of our own creation such as pollution, skincare products, chemicals, processed foods and meats, WI-FI, EMF radiation, pharmaceuticals and tap water.

Another massively overlooked poison: added sugar. The recommended safe intake of sugar is 6-9 teaspoons a day. The average American consumes 30 teaspoons per day. Sugar has no nutritional value and is directly linked to dozens of serious health problems. In fact, when you cut down on sugar, your body goes through withdrawals, invoking many to call it a drug. While detoxing, it is highly advisable to slowly cut down your sugar intake.

Although your body works overtime to eliminate these impurities from the system, once in a while you should give it a helping hand, especially in today’s world where we are exposed to so much junk. Aside from avoiding toxins, there are many ways you can aid your body in detoxification. One of the advantages of today’s information age is that we have access knowledge developed by ancient people all over the world. We can combine what they knew to create new ways to heal people. At Neter Vital, we are constantly researching ancient traditions and modern scientific studies, as well as using the feedback from our customers to further develop our products. Our Blood Cleansing Tea is based on this research and utilizes five natural herbs renowned for their detoxing capabilities. These are Burdock, Dandelion, Red Clover, and Sarsaparilla.

Burdock

Burdock’s blood purification capabilities have been known for centuries in traditional European, Chinese and Japanese medicine. Recent studies have confirmed what our ancestors knew for hundreds of years before us; that burdock removes toxins from the bloodstream. Its natural diuretic properties support the kidneys and liver in the detoxification process, lowering blood pressure and improving blood circulation.

Dandelion

Dandelion is hailed as a super-food and is perhaps the most famous contender of the five. Its medicinal use dates all the way back to the ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians, who would create a potent tonic out of the leaves. Chinese medicine has regarded the dandelion as one of the most important healing herbs for the past millennium. It is loaded with vitamins, minerals and nutrients support digestive and liver function, is an anti-carcinogen and aids in weight loss. It is commonly used on its own to detox and is especially useful in treating skin and digestive issues such as acne, eczema, stomach upset, constipation and to soothe the lining of the intestines. It also flushes excess sugar out of the body.

Red Clover

Red clover is a traditional European herb typically used alongside other detoxifying herbs. Its primary benefits are in cleansing the lymphatic and urinary systems, and it is commonly used along-side herbs that have cleansing effects on the liver. Blood flow is enhanced by red clover and it has been found to prevent blood clots. It is also a hormone balancer – and it rids the body of estrogenic toxins found in plastics, herbicides and tap water. It decreases Estrogen in women with abnormally high levels and increases estrogen production in women with low levels, which can help treat female reproductive issues. This ability to create balance can be found in many natural products, which contrasts with pharmaceuticals when generally create an imbalance.

Sarsaparilla

Sarsaparilla is an anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory. Native to the Caribbean and Americas, it boasts a wealth of medicinal properties. Sarsaparilla is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, kidney disease, digestive problems, low libido, gonorrhoea, fever and reducing fluid retention. It is also a diuretic, it flushes out toxins from the system and cleanses mucus from the system.

Cloves

Last but not least, we have incorporated cloves into our Blood Cleansing Tea. Cloves are most famous for pain relief, particularly against toothache, but we chose to include it because of its ability to kill parasites. It recorded use in ayurvedic medicine dates back thousands of years. Ayurvedic medicine considers clove buds as a key treatment against gastrointestinal infections and parasites, and it is so potent that it even dissolves the eggs left by worms.

These five herbs make a great all-round detoxifying tea to support your body and immune system all year round or to support a specific period of detoxification you may be going through. If detoxing, we recommend drinking a cup first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and then several times throughout the day alongside plenty of mineral or spring water for the duration of your detox. After that, a cup a day will ensure your body maintains a healthy rhythm.

Our blood cleansing tea is available to buy in our shop in Brixton and will soon be coming to our online store.
